Accreditations

Nexus Minnesota and Illinois programs – Mille Lacs Academy, Gerard Academy, Kindred Family Focus, Onarga Academy, Indian Oaks Academy – are accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). Nexus' Maryland program – Woodbourne Center – is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC).

COA partners with human service organizations worldwide to improve service delivery outcomes by developing, applying, and promoting accreditation standards. COA envisions excellence in the delivery of human services globally, resulting in the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.

TJC is an independent nonprofit that accredits and certifies U.S. programs that demonstrate a commitment to meeting high performance standards and quality of care.

All Nexus legal entities are now a Meets Standards® organization with the Charities Review Council. The Meets Standards® seal is a visual marker of nonprofit strength. Nexus earned the Meets Standards® seal by voluntarily participating in the Charities Review Council’s Accountability Wizard® review process, which measures nonprofits on the Charities Review Council’s 25 Accountability Standards®, a balance of nonprofit sector promising practices, public expectations, and legal requirements, representing the shared expectations between donors and nonprofits.
