Nexus has named Hilke S. Riechardt-Martinez as incoming Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer(CFO). Riechardt-Martinez will assume financial leadership of the organization, following the retirement of CFO Alan K. Nordby, Jan. 20, 2017.
Riechardt-Martinez comes to Nexus with expertise in nonprofit healthcare, including assisted living and residential treatment, and a proven track record of strong financial leadership; supporting growth, generating cost savings, and improving operational effectiveness. Her passion for mission and support for underserved populations is a good fit for Nexus’ mission of strengthening lives, families, and communities.
Riechardt-Martinez’s background includes serving as Senior Director, Finance and Administration/CFO for Touchstone Mental Health, Minneapolis, Minn.; Director Global Customer Master Data, and Financial Manager, Institutional and Healthcare Divisions, Shared Services for Ecolab, Inc., Egan and St. Paul, Minn,; Manager, Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis for Land O’Lakes, Inc., Arden Hills, Minn.; and Internal Auditor, Operational Accountant, Financial Analyst, Pricing/Contract Analyst for 3M and Imation, Oakdale, Minn. She has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified in Financial Management (CFM), and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
As Nexus Vice President of Finance, CFO, Riechardt-Martinez will oversee the organization’s $80-million annual budget, and assume responsibility for developing, implementing, and auditing compliance with all financial policies and procedures; assuring Nexus' compliance with all contract, state, and federal standards and regulations; and developing, implementing, and managing final review of Nexus site and consolidated operating and capital budgets. Nordby and Riechardt-Martinez will work together in the next month to ensure a smooth transition of financial leadership on Jan. 20, 2017.
Nexus currently operates seven business units in three states, and serves nearly 1,000 youth and families a day through a continuum of mental health services that range from in-home, community-based care to residential treatment and inpatient care. Nexus sites and affiliates include Mille Lacs Academy, Onamia, Minn.; Nexus Glen Lake, Minnetonka, Minn.; Kindred Family Focus foster care, adoption, and home-based services, Minnesota; Gerard Academy and Gerard Mental Health Services, Austin, Minn.; Onarga Academy, Onarga, Ill.; Indian Oaks Academy, Manteno, Ill.; and Woodbourne Center and Woodbourne Treatment Foster Care, Baltimore, Md.
