Brock Wolff officially steps into the role of President and CEO of Nexus on Friday, March 3, 2017. Wolff joined the organization as Chief Operating Officer in 2012 to serve under former CEO, David Hutchinson, and prepare for leadership after Hutchinson’s retirement.
Wolff’s outlook for Nexus includes continuing to build and expand the continuum of care through outpatient services, partnerships with schools, and new vocational opportunities. He also hopes to drive Nexus into advocating for youth and families on a legislative level and becoming a thought leader in the children’s mental health field to help develop interventions that meet the ever changing needs of youth and families. Through this work, Wolff wants to forge partnerships with other community organizations and providers to bring services to more families and at all levels of care.
With an extensive background in the mental health field, Wolff is well positioned to lead Nexus into its next chapter. He attended Law School at the University of South Dakota, where he found his passion for serving youth and families. Prior to joining Nexus, Wolff was the CEO of Orchard Place, a large children’s mental health provider in Iowa. During his eight-year tenure at Orchard Place, he grew the organization from a $14 million budget, serving over 5,000 children and families each year, to a more than $19 million budget, serving more than 10,000 children and families, yearly.
He also served as CEO of Family Resource Centers in Ohio, as Executive Director of a physician-owned managed health care plan, and in multiple capacities at Southeastern Mental Health Center, the largest mental health agency is South Dakota.
