Redeploy Illinois —
Putting Youth on a New Course

Redeploy Illinois helps Illinois youth who are at risk of entering the juvenile justice find a new life course. Hailed as a progressive model for juvenile justice systems, the program results in reduced prison costs and prevents young offenders from falling into futures dominated by criminal behavior and incarceration.

Redeploy Illinois provides services to youth between the ages of 13 and 18 in their home communities and links them to a vast array of community services and supports, which are provided in the least-restrictive manner possible. Youth receive an individualized needs assessment to determine what types of services are needed, including case management, court advocacy, education assistance, individual/family/group counseling, and crisis intervention.

In 2014, Indian Oaks Academy became the administrator of Kankakee County’s Redeploy program.
