Kathy Wyman, a Kindred Family Focus foster parent who has provided more than 50 years of care for children, was awarded the Minnesota Region 3 Outstanding Child Foster Care award from the Minnesota Social Service Association (MSSA) on Oct. 20, 2018.
Wyman was nominated by Kindred Family Focus NE Region Foster Care Case Worker Mary Hoffman for her outstanding and caring work. Wyman was also recognized at the Kindred Family Focus Eastern/Southern Fall Conference in October.
According to the MSSA awards summary website page, the Outstanding Child Foster Care award “recognizes outstanding foster care provided to children,” and “nominees demonstrate an outstanding ability to provide a stable and supportive environment which allows for children’s growth and development.”
Kindred Family Focus Eastern Operations Director Jay Kimball said, “We are so fortunate to have foster parents like Kathy working to help Minnesota children. Her dedication is awe-inspiring. To commit 50 years of her life helping others is a life accomplishment that is rightly recognized and celebrated.”
